If you are interested in traditional Japanese crafts, there are workshops to satisfy your curiosity. Handicraft items include “washi”, traditional Japanese paper, “wagashi”, classical Japanese sweets, and “temari”, small balls. Apart from these workshops there are some local events in which you can participate to fully experience the culture of Shikoku. Dogo Onsen in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture is the oldest hot-spring site in Japan, where you can slip back in time to the early modern period.
