YACHT CRUISING ON THE SETO INLAND SEA FROM TAKAMATSU PIER

 (1620)

One of the best parts of travelling along the Seto Inland Sea is island hopping. Starting from Takamatsu, this is easy to do. Using the ferry is a good option; however, there is another way to fully embrace the best of the Inland Sea: yacht cruising. A variety of tours are available to choose from, for example, half day or whole day tours during which to enjoy beautiful views of the many small islands, a tour that passes under the Seto-ohashi Bridge, island hopping cruises, art cruising to visit art pieces being exhibited on the islands, as well as sunset cruises offering spectacular views of the setting sun. Among these, a shared sunset cruise is easy to join and fully represents the beauty of Setouchi.

The yacht cruise tours depart from Takamatsu Marina, located opposite the ferry terminal and 10 minutes’ walk from JR Takamatsu Station – easy access from the downtown. Why not enjoy a drink while watching the beautiful sunset? You can bring your own food and drinks.

The tour starts with a cruise of the calm inland sea, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air. The yacht then comes to a stop at the best spot for sunset viewing, allowing you to watch the sun dipping below the skyline. The yacht also has a “hammock zone” where you can lie down to appreciate the early evening air in the middle of the sea. What a luxury! The scene changes dramatically as the sun sets; the sky turns orange and pink, while the sea reflects the sky, with the silhouettes of the small islets appearing to complete the magical scenery. This is the special scenic beauty of the Seto Inland Sea.

A catamaran yacht accommodates 17 people. Due to its stable structure, it rolls less compared to other types of boats. It is also equipped with a cabin and toilet for safer and more comfortable yacht cruising. Set out for an adventure and a memorable day in Setouchi.
